Services for Shipyards

Ship owners are becoming increasingly aware of a rising importance of the Inventory of Hazardous Materials (IHM). This is not only relating to the value of the ship with regards to existing or non-existing hazardous materials on board but also to the compliance with future regulatory demands.

Based on new regulations, for new EU-ships (building contract after Dec. 30th, 2015) the IHM is mandatory. Also for other ships more often requests for preparation of IHMs for new buildings and IHM maintenance for covering repairs will be received from owners. Ship yards are facing nearly identical challenges like suppliers and manufacturers. The IHM though is based on hundreds of Material Declarations (MDs) and Suppliers Declaration of Conformity (SDoC) that are to be requested and collected by shipyards from their suppliers.
