Transparent ESG rating for repair and recycling shipyards!
The ESG assessment of repair and recycling shipyards is complex and lacks a uniform assessment standard.
Everyone has their own expectations, ideas, and priorities when evaluating repair and recycling shipyards. Are these truly comprehensive, are there significant gaps, and are the results comprehensible and presentable?
What are the key aspects and requirements of administrations, classification societies, ship financiers, cash buyers and brokers, shipping associations, cargo owners and charterers, NGOs, or individual shipping companies and their experts? What can shipyards expect during the next audit, and how can they compare with their competitors? Where are there areas for improvement and potential for optimization?
Many factors and performance indicators need to be examined and compared to ensure that ESG-compliant decisions are made. The most important categories here are:
- Compliance Performance
- Social responsibility
- Environment & Climate
- Social responsibility
Pure compliance (score = "0") is supplemented, evaluated, and weighted by individual approaches, technologies, and methods in the four main categories. This results in four sub-scores and an overall score.
Interested parties can then individualize the weighting, e.g., if more emphasis is placed on social aspects than on innovation, and receive a ranking that corresponds to their individual preferences.
We have together with Nivyash The task was set to record ALL aspects in a verifiable manner, compare them with relevant specifications, assess compliance and "over-compliance," and make the evaluations available in a neutral and comprehensible way. The aim is to provide targeted support for quality and sustainability competition among shipyards and to offer both individual preferences and corresponding ESG rankings for the sustainable selection of repair and recycling shipyards.
