Materials containing asbestos have been, and still are, found on board many ships. A condition for exemptions granted by flag states is sometimes the requirement to carry out air quality tests, a so-called asbestos air monitoring. This involves ensuring that no hazardous conditions are created by airborne asbestos fibers released from asbestos-containing materials and ensuring that asbestos-containing materials can remain safely on board without posing a risk.
GSR Services offers Asbestos Air Monitoring according to VDI-3492 (June 2013 version), which is an equivalent to ISO 14966 (December 2019), for ships and other industries. Our experts carry out on-site measurements.
The collected samples are analyzed in accredited laboratories. We provide detailed asbestos concentration reports and provide tailored recommendations to minimize exposure. Contact us for a safe working environment according to the applicable regulations and standards.
